Colac Kid Claims Sportsbet Cranbourne Cup Glory

Colac Kid has etched his name into the record books with a powerful all-the-way victory in the Group 2 Sportsbet Cranbourne Cup, held at Sandown Park tonight.

In what proved to be a messy affair behind him, the Jason Sharp-trained star took full advantage of a clean getaway from box five, showing blistering early speed to lead comfortably through the first turn before holding his rivals at bay in 29.16 seconds.

Nigel Devere and Paw Ike rounded out the minor placings.

Colac Kid goes bang from box five in the Sportsbet Cranbourne Cup at Sandown tonight.

The son of Fernando Bale and Irapsag Miss has long shown his ability competing again the sports elite for some time.

After setting the fastest qualifying time in last week’s heats with a 29.04 second performance, Colac Kid backed it up when it mattered most.

Thursday night’s win marks a career-defining moment for the 49-start campaigner, who has now recorded 17 victories and competed in four Group races.

The win not only cements his place among Victoria’s most consistent chasers but also sets up an exciting campaign ahead as the Dream Chasers Festival looms large on the horizon.
